Our client, Lena's Cafe & Bar, is a waterfront cafe and restaurant located in Warners Bay, New South Wales, offering a welcoming dining experience with scenic lake views. Open daily for breakfast and lunch, the venue serves a diverse menu featuring cafe classics, modern Australian favourites, seafood, pasta, burgers, and specialty coffee, while also hosting private functions and special events.

Committed to delivering high-quality food and exceptional customer service, the business is currently seeking an experienced Chef to join their kitchen team and contribute to the preparation of high-quality meals, menu development, and the efficient operation of the kitchen.

The annual salary for this full-time position is $80,000 to $81,000.

Duties include:

  • Plan, prepare, and cook a wide range of breakfast, lunch and cafe-style meals in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.
  • Develop and update seasonal menus and daily specials, incorporating customer preferences and locally sourced ingredients where appropriate.
  • Monitor food preparation and presentation to ensure consistency, quality, and portion control across all menu items.
  • Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, allocating duties and providing training to maintain efficient kitchen operations.
  • Estimate food and labour costs, monitor stock levels, and assist with purchasing ingredients and kitchen supplies.
  • Inspect the quality of raw ingredients and finished dishes to ensure compliance with food safety and business standards.
  • Maintain strict food hygiene, sanitation, and workplace health and safety practices in accordance with Australian regulations.
  • Manage inventory, minimise food wastage, and implement effective stock rotation and storage procedures.
  • Coordinate food preparation for functions, group bookings, and special events while ensuring timely service.
  • Collaborate with the Management to improve menu offerings, introduce new dishes, and enhance customer dining experiences.
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure all appliances and work areas are clean, organised, and operating safely.
  • Ensure all meals are prepared and served efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining high culinary and presentation standards.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a Certificate III and IV in Commercial Cookery and a Diploma of Hospitality Management.
  • Should have a minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience.

Pay: $80,000.00 – $81,000.00 per year
