About the Role:

The Chef plays a significant role in enhancing the quality of life for residents at Arcare by providing delicious and nutritious meals. As the Chef, you will prepare well-balanced meals while fostering a positive dining experience for our residents, leading by example & providing guidance to the broader Catering team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Meal Preparation: Responsible for preparing meals according to the menus designed by the Head Chef. Ensure that the meals are nutritious, appealing, and meet the specific dietary needs of individual residents.
  • Special Diets: Accommodate special dietary requirements, such as texture-modified diets, to cater to the unique health conditions and preferences of our residents.
  • Food Safety and Hygiene: Adhere to strict food safety and hygiene standards to prevent foodborne illnesses and maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment.
  • Quality Control: Monitor the quality of ingredients and finished dishes, ensuring that they meet high standards in taste, appearance, and portion sizes.
  • Collaboration with Kitchen Staff: Work as part of a team in the kitchen, collaborating with other kitchen staff, to ensure efficient meal preparation and service.

What we’re looking for

  • Certificate III or IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery)
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certification
  • Adaptability, passion for what you produce and how you lead the team
  • Collaborative approach
