Introduction:

At Green Leaves Early Learning, we take pride in placing our teams and children at the heart of everything we do. From greeting our families each morning with a friendly smile and a barista-made coffee and treat, to conjuring up interesting and exciting food for our children, it’s all in a day’s work as Chef of our Richlands Centre. Day to day, in this role, you can enjoy:

  • Using your mastery knowledge of cooking, to plan an interesting and exciting menu for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years old
  • Preparing a wide variety of nutritious meals and purees, as well as working to dietary requirements for babies and children
  • Confidently managing the kitchen autonomously, ensuring effective stock rotation, budgeting, and shopping for your kitchen
  • Ensuring the highest level of food safety and supervision in accordance with Food and Council Authority requirements and Green Leaves Early Learning Standards
  • Mentoring and guiding a kitchen hand in a professional environment, to deliver the highest quality of food and service
  • Providing thoughtful culinary classes alongside our Educators, to our littlest learners.

Ideally, we’d love for you to hold:
  • A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
  • A current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willing to obtain upon commencement)
  • A current State relevant Working with Children's Check (or have the willingness to obtain)
  • Current Child Protection Training (or have the willingness to obtain)
  • Current Anaphylaxis, Asthma, CPR and First Aid Certificates (or have the willingness to obtain)
  • National Police Clearance obtained in the last 6 months (or willingness to obtain)
  • Extraordinary verbal, written and time management skills
  • The availability to work 5 days.
