Nosey Neighbour Café is preparing to open in Whittlesea, and we’re looking for cooks and chefs to join our kitchen team.

We’re creating a welcoming neighbourhood café serving quality breakfast, brunch and lunch. Our menu will bring together café favourites and distinctive dishes, with a strong focus on fresh preparation, flavour and consistent presentation.

Working alongside our Head Chef, you’ll help establish a kitchen where people communicate clearly, support each other and take pride in the food they send out.

About the role

  • Prepare and cook breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes.
  • Organise prep and keep your section ready for service.
  • Deliver consistent food quality, portion sizes and presentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organised kitchen and follow food safety procedures.
  • Help manage stock rotation and minimise waste.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef and front-of-house team to keep service running smoothly.

About you

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Previous experience as a cook or chef in a café, restaurant or similar kitchen.
  • Strong cooking fundamentals; breakfast and brunch experience will be highly regarded.
  • The ability to work efficiently and stay organised during busy service.
  • A reliable, practical approach and clear communication.
  • A positive attitude, willingness to take feedback and respect for the team.
  • Pride in maintaining high standards, from preparation through to plating.
