The Prince Alfred Hotel and Char'd Restaurant is a modern pub specialising in elevated pub classics. The restaurant is open for all day dining and is focused on using high-quality produce. We are looking for a Chef to join our professional staff and grow within the role.

Job Descriptions

  • Prepare and cook a wide variety of dishes in accordance with the restaurant’s menu, including daily specials.
  • Participate in developing new menu items based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared with attention to detail, presentation, and taste.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, delegating tasks as necessary.
  • Manage inventory and order supplies as needed, ensuring stock levels are maintained.
  • Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation standards to ensure consistency.
  • Ensure kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards are maintained at all times.
  • Work closely with the manager to plan and execute special events and promotions.
  • Monitor and manage food costs and portion control to minimize waste.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including food handling and sanitation procedures.
  • Collaborate with the front-of-house staff to address customer feedback and ensure a seamless diningexperience.

Skills and Experience

  • At least one year full-time as a chef in a similar setting.
  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and Diploma of Hospitality Management.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
