Cafe 389 Woody Point is a well-established waterfront café and dining destination located on the Redcliffe Peninsula. Known for our quality food, vibrant atmosphere and exceptional service, we are currently seeking an experienced Cook to join our passionate kitchen team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated cook who is passionate about food and hospitality to work in a fast-paced and professional kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

● Preparing, seasoning, and cooking a variety of high-quality café dishes in accordance with established recipes.

● Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills, fryers, and other commercial cooking equipment.

● Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding sauces and garnishes to meet our strict presentation standards.

● Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities and monitoring stock levels.

● Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements and accommodating specific customer requests.

● Maintaining HACCP, food safety, and hygiene standards, keeping kitchen work areas and equipment clean and organised.

● Working collaboratively with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth, efficient service during busy periods.

Skills and Experience

  • Qualification in Commercial Cookery.
  • At least 1 year's experience in a fast-paced café, restaurant, or commercial kitchen.
  • Strong knowledge of practical cooking techniques, equipment operation, and kitchen hygiene standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a high-volume environment.
  • Excellent organisational, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities to support the wider kitchen brigade.
