Café & Retail Team Member - The Meeting Point Café at Billabong Zoo Koala & Wildlife Park in Port Macquarie

Billabong Zoo is seeking expressions of interest for vibrant, motivated and friendly casual team members to join The Meeting Point Café and Retail team.

Our Hospitality and Retail team members play an important role in helping create a warm, welcoming and wild experience for every visitor who walks through our doors!

This role includes preparing and serving food and beverages, making great coffee, operating the point-of-sale system, assisting with retail sales, keeping our café and service areas clean and tidy, and helping with stock replenishment. You’ll be working in a busy, fast-paced environment, so we’re looking for someone who can stay calm under pressure, work well as part of a team, and deliver friendly, professional customer service with a smile.

As part of the Billabong Zoo team, you’ll also help uphold our values of conservation and education in everything we do.

Applicants must be available to work during the week with flexibility across café and retail shifts.

Essential Criteria

• A friendly, efficient and professional approach to customer service
• Previous experience in retail, food preparation, coffee-making and/or general café duties
• Familiarity with POS systems, online ordering platforms, digital payments and cash-handling
• The ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality
• A sound understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
• A current Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain one prior to commencing
• The legal right to work in Australia

Desirable Criteria:

• Barista skills and knowledge of coffee preparation
• A valid RSA and bar experience
• A valid Food Handling Certificate or equivalent
• Current First Aid Certificate
