About your new role

As a Cafe All-Rounder at our Fortitude Valley Espresso Bar, you’ll be a key part of the team delivering the Allpress experience every day.

While great coffee is at the heart of the role, this is very much an all-round hospitality position. You’ll move between the coffee bar, floor and food prep throughout the day, working closely with the rest of the team to make sure customers are looked after and the café runs smoothly.

We’re looking for someone who takes ownership of their space, notices what needs doing and is happy to jump in wherever the team needs them.

A day in the life

Your day might start by helping get the café ready for service – setting up the bar, dialling in coffee, checking stock, preparing sandwiches and food for the day and making sure the space is clean and ready before the first customers arrive.

Once service gets moving, you could be making coffees and taking orders, then jumping off the machine to run food and drinks, clear and reset tables, help with food prep or support another team member through a busy period.

Throughout the day, everyone plays a part in keeping the café running. That means staying on top of dishes and glassware, restocking, cleaning the bar and café, keeping food prep areas tidy and jumping in wherever something needs doing. There’s no real “that’s not my area” – we all help each other get it done.

As service slows, you’ll help with cleaning, dishes, restocking and prep, making sandwiches and getting everything reset and ready for the next day.

Most importantly, you’ll get to know our customers, our coffee and the wider Allpress team, and play a big part in making Valley a place people want to keep coming back to.
