Full-Time Café Supervisor / Senior Barista

Location: La Baguette Café, 82 High Street, Berwick VIC 3806
Salary Package: $60,000–$65,000 per annum (depending on experience)

About Us

La Baguette Café is a busy and well-established café in the heart of Berwick Village, renowned for exceptional coffee, quality food, and outstanding customer service.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Café Supervisor / Senior Barista to take a leading role in our daily floor operations. This position is ideal for someone with excellent coffee-making skills who is ready to step into a leadership role and help drive a high-performing hospitality team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the daily front-of-house operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  • Prepare consistently high-quality espresso coffee and specialty beverages.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming café experience.
  • Coordinate floor operations during busy service periods.
  • Support, mentor, and motivate front-of-house team members.
  • Assist with staff training and maintaining high service standards.
  • Handle customer enquiries and resolve issues professionally.
  • Monitor workflow and ensure food and beverages are delivered efficiently.
  • Assist with stock ordering, inventory control, and supplier deliveries.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Work closely with the Café Owner to continuously improve operations, customer service, and team performance.
  • Help develop future team leaders and contribute to a positive workplace culture.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Minimum two years' experience in a busy café environment.
  • Strong barista skills with the ability to consistently produce high-quality coffee.
  • Previous experience supervising or leading a front-of-house team is highly regarded.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organisational, leadership, and time management abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and perform effectively during busy service periods.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a hands-on leadership style.
  • Must be available to work approximately 38–40 hours per week.
  • Weekend availability is essential. Applicants must be available to work Saturdays and Sundays.
