Front of House Team Member - Social Butterfly Tea & Dessert

SOCIALBUTTERFLY is a contemporary dessert and tea room in Sydney's CBD, an urban sanctuary where tea, dessert, and atmosphere come together as a modern ritual. Known for our café-styled Matcha creations, handcrafted desserts, and thoughtful hospitality, we are creating a destination where guests can slow down, connect, and enjoy moments of calm within the city.

We are seeking an energetic, personable, and hospitality-driven Front of House Team Member to join our growing team and help shape a welcoming and memorable guest experience.

This role is ideal for someone who understands that hospitality begins the moment a guest walks through the door.

The Role

As part of our front-of-house team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, supporting daily operations, and helping maintain an environment that feels composed, warm, and refined.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist guests with professionalism and warmth
  • Take orders accurately and confidently
  • Serve tea, desserts, and beverages to guests
  • Provide menu recommendations and answer customer enquiries
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the venue
  • Support smooth service flow during busy periods
  • Communicate effectively with team members during service
  • Uphold service standards and guest experience expectations
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures

Who We're Looking For

You are attentive, friendly, and naturally hospitable. You enjoy creating positive experiences through thoughtful interaction and attention to detail.

Ideal qualities include:

  • Minimum 1 year hospitality, café, restaurant, or customer service experience
  • Valid Australian working rights for a minimum of 12 months
  • Confident communication and friendly presence
  • Strong awareness of guest experience and atmosphere
  • Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced CBD environment
  • Well-presented with a positive attitude
  • Willingness to learn and grow within a structured team
  • Able to work on weekends, public holidays, and long hours

Experience in cafés, dessert venues, tea houses, or premium service environments is highly regarded but not essential.

Being there in the beginning, start-up concept awaiting official grand opening.
