Full job description

Toowoomba Coffee House is looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic person to join our café team.

We are a busy local café looking for someone who enjoys working with people, has a positive attitude and is happy to take on a variety of tasks throughout the day.

This casual position offers flexible shifts and would suit someone looking for work that can fit around their other commitments.

You don't need extensive café experience to apply. We're happy to train someone who is willing to learn, works hard and enjoys being part of a team.

What You'll Be Doing

Your daily responsibilities may include:

  • Welcoming customers and taking orders
  • Operating the POS system and handling payments
  • Serving meals, coffee and other drinks
  • Delivering food and beverages to tables
  • Clearing, wiping and resetting tables
  • Washing dishes and assisting with kitchen tasks
  • Cleaning and maintaining café facilities, including toilets
  • Keeping workstations and service areas clean and organised
  • Restocking supplies and preparing for busy periods
  • Helping other team members wherever needed

As a small team, everyone shares responsibility for customer service, cleaning and general café duties.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is friendly, reliable and punctual
  • Has a positive attitude and a willingness to learn
  • Enjoys working with customers
  • Can work efficiently in a busy environment
  • Is comfortable performing a variety of café duties
  • Is willing to help with cleaning, washing dishes and general housekeeping
  • Works well with others and follows instructions
  • Takes initiative and notices when something needs to be done
  • Can be flexible with their availability

Previous café or hospitality experience is an advantage, but not essential.

We value reliability, a good attitude and willingness to work just as much as previous experience.
