Leisure Programs Coordinator - Culture & Leisure

Band 7 $103,648 - $115,972 plus 12% statutory superannuation

Based at Aqua Energy within Wellington Shire's Culture & Leisure portfolio, this role offers the opportunity to lead programs that improve community health, wellbeing and connection through aquatic, fitness and recreation services.

Are you an experienced leisure professional with a passion for creating high-quality programs and great customer experiences? We are seeking a Leisure Programs Coordinator to lead the planning, development and delivery of inclusive leisure programs across aquatic, fitness and recreation services. This role is responsible for growing participation, improving service quality, leading teams and ensuring programs meet community needs and financial targets.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the planning, development and delivery of leisure programs across aquatic, fitness and recreation services.
  • Drive participation, program quality and customer experience through responsive and inclusive service delivery.
  • Oversee program pricing, budgeting, forecasting and resource allocation to support strong service outcomes.
  • Lead and support program teams to deliver safe, effective and community-focused services.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, community groups, partners and service providers.
  • Monitor performance, identify improvement opportunities and respond to changing community needs and industry trends.

About you:

  • You have experience leading leisure, aquatic, fitness or recreation programs in a comparable environment.
  • You know how to improve participation, customer experience and overall program performance.
  • You are a strong people leader who can support teams, set clear expectations and drive service outcomes.
  • You have strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills and can build positive working relationships.
  • You are confident managing budgets, pricing, forecasting and resources.
  • You hold relevant tertiary qualifications in recreation, sport management, health, community development or a related field.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience in leading the planning, development and delivery of leisure programs, with the ability to drive participation, service quality and community outcomes across aquatic, fitness and recreation services.
  • Proven track record in improving customer experience, participation and program performance, supported by a strong understanding of the leisure and recreation industry, including trends and community needs.
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal teams, community groups, partners and service providers.
  • Strong financial and resource management capability, including experience in program budgeting, pricing, forecasting and the effective allocation of resources to achieve service outcomes.
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in recreation, sport management, health, community development or a related discipline, with degree qualifications preferred and postgraduate or industry-relevant qualifications highly regarded.
