Experienced Barista – Monday to Friday Mornings

We are a friendly, established local café seeking an experienced and reliable Barista to join our team on a permanent part-time or casual basis.

This is a key morning position for someone confident managing the coffee station, taking customer orders and completing café opening and closing procedures. You will need to be comfortable working independently, maintaining high standards and creating a welcoming experience for our customers.

Shifts will begin between 5:30 am and 6:30 am and generally run for approximately five hours. Applicants must have reliable availability from Monday to Friday mornings. Occasional weekend shifts may also be available.

Key Responsibilities

• Opening and closing the café and coffee station
• Preparing consistently high-quality coffees, drinks and hot drinks
• Taking customer orders and providing friendly, efficient service
• Operating the POS system and handling payments
• Managing the flow of coffee and front-counter orders
• Maintaining a clean, organised and well-stocked workstation
• Completing morning preparation and end-of-shift cleaning
• Following food safety and hygiene procedures
• Monitoring stock levels and communicating ordering requirements

About You

• A minimum of one to two years of professional barista experience
• Confident preparing coffees quickly and consistently
• Reliable and available Monday to Friday mornings
• Comfortable opening, closing and working independently
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Organised, punctual and able to remain calm during busy periods
• Fluent in English
• Experience in café operations, and with prep of smoothies, juices or açaí bowls is beneficial but not essential

Pay: Up to $45 per hour, depending on experience, shift and applicable penalty rates
