Full job description

We’re a new but busy café in Bayswater, very close to the train station, looking for two café all-rounders who can make a very decent coffee.

We go through around 25 kg of coffee a week, working on a La Marzocco Classic with a Fiorenzato grinder, so you’ll need to be comfortable working at a solid pace while still caring about the quality of every cup.

We’re a very community-focused café. We know a lot of our customers by name, we know their usual orders, and we genuinely enjoy having a relationship with the people who come in every day. We want to keep it that way, so we’re looking for someone warm, friendly and naturally good with people.

This is a genuine all-rounder role, so you’ll be doing a bit of everything:

making coffee
serving customers at the till
running food and drinks
dishwashing
cleaning
helping with basic prep
and doing whatever else is needed to keep the café running smoothly

You don’t need to be a competition barista, but you must be confident on the machine and able to pour basic latte art — at minimum, a solid heart and rosetta.

This isn’t a role for someone who only wants to stand behind the coffee machine. You’ll need to be happy jumping between coffee, service, dishes and whatever else the day needs.

We have two positions available, each offering approximately 15 hours per week:

one full weekday shift
one shorter weekday shift of around five hours

More hours will become available as the business grows.
