Barista / All rounder

Coogee Continental Deli is a is a suburban hub for great coffee and continental favorites. We are searching for a passionate, reliable, and customer-focused Barista to join our team. As a Barista, you’ll be the face of our café, responsible for delivering exceptional coffee, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere. You’ll prepare a range of espresso-based beverages, assist with food service, and contribute to a clean and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and beverages to consistent standards
  • Take customer orders with accuracy, warmth, and efficiency
  • Operate coffee machines, grinders, and other café equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the coffee station and café area
  • Follow food safety and hygiene procedures at all times
  • Restock supplies and rotate stock as required
  • Serve customers and assist with operational tasks
  • Handle cash and EFTPOS transactions accurately
  • Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Support team members during busy periods and help create a positive team environment

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in a café or hospitality setting (barista experience preferred)
  • Confident using equipment and steaming milk to texture
  • Knowledge of coffee beans, grind, extraction time, and drink variations
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
  • A strong work ethic, reliability, and team-focused attitude
  • Flexibility to work mornings, weekends, and public holidays as needed

Desirable:

  • Barista training or certification
  • Experience with food handling or kitchen assistance
  • Interest in coffee and hospitality trends

Our store operates 7 days per week.

The successful applicate will be required to work day shifts and weekends. With possible afternoon shifts & public holidays. We offer a friendly, fair work place, we work hard but have the music cracked and have a laugh. The applicant must reside in Australia and have the correct working visa (if necessary) to work in Australia.
