Casual Front of House and Cafe Team Member

Pride Gym Underwood | Approx. 10 - 15 hours per week

We are looking for a reliable, energetic and confident casual front of house team member to join our team.

This is a hand on role that combines FOH customer service, gym reception, cafe duties, cleaning and maintenence.

You will often be working independently, so we are looking for someone who is responsible, proactive and comfortable taking ownership of their shift. No two shifts will necessarily look the same, and we need someone who is happy to jump between helping a member, making a coffee, cleaning the bathrooms or maintaining our recovery area.

About the role

You'll be responsible for helping Pride Gym running smoothly and ensuring our members and guests have a great experience from the moment they walk through the door.

Your duties will include:

Front of House & Customer Service

• Greeting members and guests with friendly, positive attitude
• Answering member questions and assisting with general enquiries
• Signing up new members and processing memberships
• Giving prospective members tours of the gym
• Helping members with general gym enquiries and day-to-day requests
• Creating a welcoming and professional FOH environment
• Stocking fridges and maintaining presentation of the reception/cafe area

Café

• Making coffees, shakes and other drinks
• Taking payments and handling basic POS duties
• Keeping the café and fridges clean, stocked and organised

Gym & Facility Cleaning

• Vacuuming and mopping gym floors
• Cleaning and maintaining bathrooms, toilets and showers
• Dusting and wiping down surfaces and equipment
• Cleaning reception areas, benches and fridges
• Keeping the gym floor and front-of-house areas presentable
• General cleaning and maintenance tasks as required

Recovery Area

• Maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the recovery area
• Cleaning and maintaining the pools
• Emptying and refilling pools as required
• Wiping down surfaces and equipment
• Ensuring the recovery area is clean, organised and ready for members

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Reliable and punctual
• Friendly, approachable and confident speaking with people
• Comfortable working independently and being the only staff member on site
• Proactive you don’t need to be constantly told what needs doing
• Comfortable interacting with customers and potential members
• Confident learning and using POS and membership systems
• Comfortable making coffees, smoothies and other café items
• Happy to get stuck into cleaning and physical tasks
• Well presented and takes pride in their work
• Organised and able to manage multiple tasks during a shift
• Positive, energetic and genuinely enjoys working around people
• Comfortable working in a gym environment

Gym, café, hospitality, reception or customer service experience is highly regarded, but attitude and reliability are just as important.

Hours

Approximately 15 hours per week, primarily Monday–Friday.

Shifts will generally fall within:

Monday–Friday:
5:00am–10:00am
2:00pm–7:00pm

Occasional Saturday shifts:
7:00am–2:00pm

The successful applicant will need to have availability across these time periods, particularly early mornings.
