Café All-Rounder Wanted – Pomegranate Café & Eatery, Kincumber

Pomegranate Café & Eatery (Shop 10, Kincumber Village) is looking for an enthusiastic, reliable Café All-Rounder to join our friendly team! If you love working in a fast-paced café environment, take pride in great coffee and food, and enjoy delivering top-notch customer service, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role
We're after someone who can confidently move between the coffee machine, the kitchen, and the floor — a true all-rounder who keeps things running smoothly during busy periods and helps create a warm, welcoming experience for every customer.

Pay Rate: $30–$35 per hour (depending on experience)

Duties Include:

  • Preparing and serving barista-quality coffee (espresso machine experience essential)
  • Light cooking and food prep – breakfast and lunch items, sandwiches, toasties, etc.
  • Taking customer orders and operating the POS/register
  • Providing friendly, attentive customer service
  • Setting up and closing down the café (opening/closing duties)
  • Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in line with food safety regulations
  • Restocking and monitoring stock levels of food, drinks, and consumables
  • Plating and presenting food and beverages to a high standard
  • Clearing and resetting tables, general front-of-house tidiness
  • Washing dishes/using dishwasher and keeping kitchen/service areas clean
  • Assisting with basic food prep for catering orders when required
  • Working collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth daily operations

Requirements:

  • Previous café/hospitality experience preferred
  • Solid barista skills – must be able to make a variety of coffees consistently
  • Comfortable with light cooking/food prep
  • Must be available to work weekends
  • Must be available for afternoon shifts
  • Current RSA/Food Safety certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude
  • Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
  • Reliable, punctual, and a great team player
