Full job description

Do you love to build genuine connections, nurture belonging and enhance life? At Aveo, you can do just that and more. Join us and feel confident to embrace new challenges in our supportive culture. Bring your whole-self to work, grow as you learn new things and be rewarded through the joy of helping others. Together let's redefine retirement living for senior Australians.

The Opportunity

The Manors of Mosman is a well-established retirement village set within thoughtfully maintained gardens in Sydney's harbourside north. Located less than 10 kilometres from the CBD, it offers easy access to local shops, dining, cinema and essential services. We're excited to be opening a brand-new on-site cafe, giving residents a vibrant new space to gather, socialise and enjoy quality food and coffee without leaving the community they call home. As a Food & Beverage Attendant, you'll play a key part in bringing this new cafe to life, delivering excellent service, assisting with food preparation, and helping set up and pack down the cafe, dining areas and events. In this role, you'll do more than serve meals and coffee - you'll support our residents, foster meaningful connections, and help create a sense of community.

This is a 12-Month Fixed Term Contract working Tuesday – Friday (10:45am-3:00pm)

Your Impact

  • Use the POS system to take orders while providing friendly, attentive, and personalised service to residents
  • Serve meals and drinks throughout service times, ensuring every dining experience is welcoming and enjoyable
  • Assist with light food preparation, including plating meals and preparing simple items such as salads
  • Support the dining team with hands-on food preparation including reheating meats and vegetables, preparing cold dishes and assembling sandwiches and light meals to menu specifications
  • Support the setup and pack-down of events and dining spaces, maintaining clean, organised, and inviting areas throughout the day.
  • Build meaningful connections with residents, fostering a sense of community and belonging
What you'll bring

  • Previous customer service or hospitality experience is desirable, but a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment is most important
  • Friendly, people-focused attitude with a genuine passion for customer service
  • Previous food service or kitchen experience, including hands-on food preparation
  • Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in connecting with residents
  • Enthusiasm for working in retirement living and making a positive impact
  • Minimum of two (2) COVID-19 vaccinations (required)
What we offer

  • $29.98/hr + superannuation + relevant award entitlements including penalty rates, overtime and allowances
  • Employee Referral Program and Employee Assistance Program
  • Discounts to Health Insurance and Retail & Leisure partner providers
  • Annual flu vaccinations and skin checks
  • The opportunity to build meaningful, lasting relationships with residents and contribute to our retirement community
