Join Brickfields, one of Sydney’s leading artisan bakeries. Known for our Chippendale café and range of pastries, cakes and sourdough breads, we are excited to be opening a new kiosk in Sydney’s Hills District.

We are looking for friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Customer Service Assistants to join our Hills District team.

About the role

Our new Hills District kiosk will operate seven days a week, with casual shifts available across weekdays and weekends.

Shifts will generally:

• Be approximately four to five hours long
• Be rostered between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm
• Include weekday and weekend work according to availability and business needs

This is a customer-facing role suited to someone who enjoys working independently, providing excellent service and representing a quality food brand.

Key responsibilities

• Welcoming and serving customers in a friendly and efficient manner
• Developing strong knowledge of Brickfields products
• Providing customers with product and allergen information
• Operating the Square point-of-sale system
• Receiving and displaying stock
• Maintaining accurate stock counts
• Keeping the kiosk clean, organised and well presented
• Following food-safety and workplace-safety procedures
• Opening or closing the kiosk when rostered
• Communicating stock requirements, customer feedback and operational issues to management

About you

We are looking for someone who:

• Has customer service, retail or hospitality experience
• Is friendly, approachable and confident engaging with customers
• Can communicate clearly with customers and colleagues
• Is reliable, punctual and able to work independently
• Is available for a combination of weekday and weekend shifts
• Has sound literacy and numeracy skills
• Can work efficiently in a busy retail environment
• Is enthusiastic about learning and sharing product knowledge
• Takes pride in maintaining a clean and attractive retail space
• Is physically able to stand for the duration of a shift and safely receive, move and display stock

Experience in food retail, hospitality, bakeries or market sales would be an advantage.

Work locations

Your primary work location will be a new Brickfields kiosk in Sydney’s Hills District. The specific location will be shared with shortlisted applicants.

From time to time, team members may also be offered or rostered for shifts at other Brickfields locations where reasonably required to support operational needs. Any such rostering will take reasonable travel distances and individual circumstances into account.

Trial and training

Shortlisted applicants may be invited to complete a brief, directly supervised skills assessment. Any productive trial shift or work completed beyond a brief skills demonstration will be paid at the applicable casual rate.

Successful applicants will complete paid training before working independently.
