We're a busy Southbank café serving breakfast, coffee and house-made focaccias - and we're looking for a reliable, friendly all-rounder to join our team.

If you enjoy working in a busy café, talking to customers and being the person who jumps in wherever you're needed, we'd love to hear from you.

And yes - we're closed weekends.

The hours

• Monday to Friday only
• No weekends
• Daytime shifts, [6:00am - 4:00pm]
• No dinner service or split shifts
• days per week, depending on availability
• Your weekends and evenings are yours

The role

This is a genuine all-rounder position. You'll be doing a bit of everything that keeps a small, busy café running smoothly.

One minute you might be taking orders and working the POS, the next you could be clearing tables, doing dishes or helping the kitchen get through a rush.

We're looking for someone who doesn't wait to be told what needs doing - you see it, and you do it.

What you'll do

• Take customer orders and operate the POS system
• Provide friendly, efficient customer service
• Run and clear tables and keep the café looking clean and organised
• Wash dishes and keep the kitchen and service areas tidy
• Help with basic food preparation when needed
• Make sandwiches and assist the kitchen during busy periods
• Restock fridges, shelves and service areas
• Assist with opening and closing duties
• Help wherever you're needed during busy periods
• Follow food safety and hygiene procedures

What we're after

• Previous café, hospitality or customer service experience
• Comfortable working in a busy environment
• Friendly and confident with customers
• Reliable and punctual - if you're rostered on, we need you there
• Happy doing the less glamorous jobs, including dishes and cleaning
• Able to work as part of a small team

Nice to have, but not essential

• Barista experience
• Food preparation experience
• Food Safety Certificate
• Previous experience in a fast-paced café

Pay: $33.10 – $35.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
