About us

Exeter General Store is a bustling community hub and destination cafe in the beautiful village of Exeter in the Southern Highlands. We are passionate about serving consistently delicious coffee and meals, paired with authentic friendly service from our team.

We offer team members an organised and positive place to work. You will be joining a well-established friendly and supportive team environment and be able to develop long-term relationships with a community of regular customers.

We are looking for enthusiastic people to join our team and provide our customers with a great cafe experience.

Dishwasher / Busser / Food runner

We have both weekday-only and weekend-junior positions as a dishwasher / busser / food runner. Primary tasks include dishwashing using a commercial dishwashing machine, clearing/resetting tables and taking food & beverages to tables. You may also undertake mail sorting in our post office. No experience is needed for this development role, ongoing training and coaching will be provided. As you build your experience and skills through training and time in the role, there is opportunity to progress to a barista/all-rounder role if it suits you. On weekdays, shift start times can suit your needs, from 7am to 9am. Finish time is 3.30pm.

We are able to accommodate part-time or full-time with flexibility in hours per week depending on your needs. Rosters are consistent and published well in-advance. As a permanent role, you will have paid annual leave (with additional leave loading), paid personal leave and guaranteed hours. Casual can be discussed if part-time or full-time is not suitable for you.

The weekend positions are an ideal first job for high school students seeking weekend and school holiday work, and a great opportunity to build your experience and teamwork, learning the ropes in a busy cafe. The weekend positions are typically one shift per week, Saturday or Sunday (approx. 9am-3.30pm), plus shifts available in the school holidays.

We also have a barista/all-rounder role available.
