Carpenter / Builder

NEX Building Group | New Zealand

Build Quality Homes Across Residential Projects

NEX Building Group is seeking a skilled Carpenter / Builder to join its residential construction team. This role involves hands-on site work across new home builds, framing systems, and residential repairs and maintenance.

This is a practical, site-based position ideal for someone experienced in carpentry who enjoys working as part of a dynamic construction team.

What You'll Do?

Read and interpret construction and architectural drawings.

Build and install steel or timber framing systems.

Carry out residential framing, fixing, and finishing work.

Install doors, windows, walls, flooring, and structural components.

Perform maintenance and repair work on completed homes.

Work across multiple residential construction sites.

Assist with pre-fabricated steel frame assembly and installation.

Ensure compliance with building standards and safety requirements.

Collaborate with site managers and other trades.

Conduct on-site adjustments and basic troubleshooting.

What We're Looking For:

Carpentry or building trade qualification (preferred).

Experience in residential construction or framing work.

Ability to read and interpret building plans and drawings.

Knowledge of steel or timber framing systems is an advantage.

Strong understanding of construction health and safety practices.

Physically fit for demanding site-based work.

Ability to work independently and within a team.

Valid driver’s licence (usually required).
