About the Role

Civeo Australia are looking for a Carpenter to join our Asset & Facilities Maintenance team in our remote accommodation villages in regional Queensland.

This role will be based out of our village in Coppabella.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll spend your time in the field, travelling across multiple villages on a lifestyle-friendly 7:7 roster. FIFO and DIDO options are available.

The primary responsibility of this role is to carry out reactive, planned and preventative maintenance across village infrastructure in a professional, technically sound, safe and timely manner. This includes carpentry repairs, construction tasks, and preparing layouts in accordance with building codes, ensuring all assets are maintained to a high standard and provide a safe environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out reactive, planned and preventative carpentry maintenance
  • Diagnose faults and perform repairs across village buildings and infrastructure
  • Undertake general construction, repairs and refurbishment works
  • Read and interpret drawings, specifications and work orders
  • Prepare layouts and materials in accordance with building codes
  • Ensure all work complies with legislative, safety and environmental standards
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and work orders
  • Liaise with contractors and suppliers for repairs and installations
  • Support general maintenance activities across village facilities as required
  • Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a safe and professional condition
  • Contribute to a positive safety culture and follow all safe work practices
  • Participate in on-call or after-hours requirements while on swing

About You

  • Trade Qualification – Certificate III in Carpentry
  • Current Class C (Manual) Driver’s Licence
  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance, fault finding and repair work
  • Experience in remote villages, mining or high-volume service environments preferred
  • Strong understanding of building codes, safety and compliance standards
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation
  • Experience using maintenance systems and managing work orders
  • Well organised with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and National Police Clearance
  • Valid working rights within Australia
