The Salvation Army (Salvos) Youth Services encompasses a range of programs for vulnerable young people, their families, and the community. Our services have a strong focus on prevention and early intervention and enable access to safe accommodation options, Holistic case management, community outreach programs and programs that teach vital independent living skills. About the role
As our next Case Manager, you'll work alongside young people and families facing homelessness or housing insecurity, providing practical support, advocacy, and encouragement at pivotal moments in their lives. With a manageable caseload of up to 12 clients, you'll have the time to build genuine connections and deliver tailored support through our Youth & Family Outreach, Crisis Accommodation, and Interim & Transition Support programs.
Joining a dedicated service that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, you'll play an important role in helping more than 450 young people and families each year access safety, stability, and the support they need to thrive.
Youth Programs
Youth Services staff work within a trauma & psychologically informed practice environment, all staff are expected to work creatively towards ensuring that the support needs of all young people are the first priority.
Reporting to the Client Services Coordinator, this is a fixed-term full-time position, contracted for 11 months, based in St Kilda, VIC.
Conditions
Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 5 Award.
How you will make an impact
- Implement case plans with active client participation
- Work with direction of the Client Services Coordinator and Program Manager on implementation and review of therapeutic case plans
- Establish effective relationships with clients that encourage participation
- Provide case management support to clients
- Participate in one portfolio area team and once crisis network strategic working group
What you will bring
- Degree qualification in Social Work or related field
- Relevant experience in a Social Service environment (preferred)
- Knowledge of youth homelessness and crisis intervention
- Demonstrated skills engaging with young people with complex support needs, specialist skills in youth AOD and mental health
- Knowledge in range of theories such as trauma and strength based approaches
- Current and valid Driver's Licence
