Full job description
When you join MercyCare, you become part of something bigger than a job. You join a community of people who show up for Western Australians at the moments that matter most - from early learning and disability support, to family, community and aged care services. We live by our values of respect, integrity, compassion, justice, excellence and courage, and we are committed to safeguarding and protecting children, young people and vulnerable people in our community.
About the role
You will manage a caseload, complete assessments and develop individual case plans, providing practical guidance, advocacy and referrals tailored to each person’s circumstances and goals. Working collaboratively with service providers and government organisations, you will help people navigate complex systems while providing consistent, trauma-informed and strengths-based support. Must have Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday availability.
About you
We’re looking for a compassionate and resilient case worker who understands the complexity of homelessness and the importance of meeting people where they are. You’ll be comfortable building trust, working through challenging circumstances and finding practical pathways forward, while maintaining a strong focus on each person’s strengths, choices and goals. Your key experience will include:
- Relevant bachelor’s degree
- Case work experience within community services
- Experience supporting people experiencing complex or high-risk circumstances
- Strong advocacy, assessment and intervention skills
- Ability to build effective networks with community and government services
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Working with Children Check
- National Police Clearance (obtained within the last six months)
About the benefits
You'll become part of an inclusive, diverse, and welcoming Western Australian organisation passionately committed to making a meaningful impact in the local community. Our MercyCare Promise is focused on ensuring our people are connected and empowered to make a positive difference in the heart of our communities. As a valued team member, you’ll also enjoy access to:
- Not for profit Salary Packaging options up to $18,000!
- 5 weeks annual leave and 3 weeks personal leave
- Free onsite parking
- Childcare discounts for your little ones
- Options to purchase additional leave
- Career Pathways, Professional Development and Training
- Comprehensive Wellbeing Program including discounted health insurance and free flu vaccinations
