Chubby Cubby Cafe | Clarence St, Sydney CBD

Chubby Cubby Cafe is looking for a reliable and experienced Breakfast Cook / Prep team member to join our kitchen at Clarence Street.

We’re a Sydney café specialising in high-quality hand-whisked matcha drinks, coffee, desserts and Asian-inspired café food. This role is focused on breakfast and lunch service, food preparation and keeping the kitchen running smoothly throughout the day.

Main responsibilities

  • Preparing and cooking breakfast and lunch menu items
  • Preparing grab-and-go sandwiches and other café food
  • Completing daily mise en place and kitchen prep
  • Assisting with plated desserts and cake preparation when required
  • Following recipes, portioning and presentation standards
  • Maintaining consistent food quality and presentation
  • Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and food-safe
  • Restocking and rotating ingredients correctly
  • Supporting the kitchen team during busy service

What we’re looking for

  • Previous commercial kitchen experience
  • Breakfast or café kitchen experience preferred
  • Dessert preparation or cake-finishing experience is a bonus
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail
  • Reliable, punctual and comfortable working as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene
  • Availability across weekdays and weekends
