- Identify opportunities for improvement across network operations and recommend enhancements to integrated hardware, software, communications, and operating systems
- Design, plan, and coordinate network architecture strategies that align with the organisation's broader technology goals and operational requirements
- Perform routine and scheduled network maintenance, including software and hardware upgrades, patch management, and system backups to ensure continuity and resilience
- Troubleshoot and resolve network faults, connectivity issues, and performance degradation, providing timely support to internal teams and end users
- Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including topology diagrams, configuration records, and operational procedures
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends, providing informed recommendations on tools and solutions that could improve network capability and efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to support infrastructure projects, system integrations, and technology upgrades
- Contribute to the development and enforcement of network policies, standards, and security protocols to safeguard the organisation's data and systems
- Assist in capacity planning and forecasting to ensure the network infrastructure can support current and future organisational demands

## Required Qualifications & Skills

- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in a network analysis, network engineering, or similar IT infrastructure role
- Strong working knowledge of networking protocols, technologies, and concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, BGP, and OSPF
- Proven experience monitoring and managing enterprise network environments using industry-standard tools and platforms
- Solid understanding of network security principles, firewalls, access controls, and best practices
- Experience with network hardware from leading vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, or Palo Alto
- Ability to analyse complex technical data, interpret performance metrics, and translate findings into actionable recommendations
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve network issues efficiently under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to manage competing priorities, work autonomously, and contribute effectively within a team environment

## Preferred Qualifications

- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent vendor-specific credentials
- Experience working within large-scale or enterprise-level network environments
- Familiarity with cloud networking platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
- Knowledge of network automation tools and scripting languages such as Python or Ansible
- Experience with SD-WAN technologies and software-defined networking concepts
- Exposure to ITIL frameworks or experience working within a managed service provider (MSP) environment
