Mala’la Health Service is currently recruiting for Afterhours Driver/Cleaner to work in our Afterhours Program at the Health Centre.

This role is to assist the Afterhours Nurse who will be providing clinical service to the residents of the Maningrida Community outside of the Clinic opening hours. The position will require you to be working based at the Clinic from the hours of 9 pm to 8 am, for 3-4 nights per week, or 70 hours per fortnight.

• Provide safe and practical transportation for the clients accessing the Clinic services afterhours
• Responsible for the cleaning of the Health Centre in-between clients

Essential Requirements

The role will see you living and working in a remote Aboriginal Community. All applicants must have an understanding of, and commitment to Aboriginal Community Control, self-determination, and the issues faced by Aboriginal people living in remote settings.

Essential Requirements

• Full working rights in Australia – note: there is no visa sponsorship for this role
• Current Australian Driver’s License
• Ability to drive manual vehicle transmission
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Satisfactory Criminal History Check
• Ability to obtain NT Working with Children Clearance OCHRE card
• No limitations with manual handling and aiding with CPR
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
• Pre-employment Health Assessment required

The successful applicant will have access to a range of benefits, including:

• Attractive salary circa $79,115 gross per annum, consisting of base rate $35.82 per hour + applicable penalties
• 7 weeks annual leave + 17.5% leave loading

• Travel FOIL Allowance: $6,000 per annum

• Salary Packaging: Up to $15,900 per annum, plus a further $2,650 per annum on Meals and Entertainment
