Latteria Bar is a vibrant aperitivo bar and restaurant located on Hutt Street in Adelaide. The venue blends 1950s Italian nostalgia with a modern, energetic bar and restaurant atmosphere, offering a seamless experience from daytime dining through to late-night drinks.

The menu offering at Latteria is modern Italian with an aperitivo focus, featuring produce-driven, seasonal Italian dishes using local ingredients, a mix of small plates, bar snacks, and share-style dining typical of Italian aperitivo culture and creative interpretation of the classics. The menu balances casual accessibility with refined techniques, supporting both quick bar dining and full table service.

Open seven days a week, dinner and lunches from Friday through to Sunday, Latteria operates at a high volume while maintaining exacting standards across food, service and presentation. The kitchen is fast-paced, professional and collaborative, with a strong emphasis on training, systems, and execution. Latteria is seeking an experienced Cook/Chef to support the delivery of a high-quality menu to customers.

Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Cook/Chef is responsible for supporting the operational running of the kitchen in the restaurant and providing the highest standard of food at all times.

DUTIES & REPSONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates with the Executive Chef to direct food preparation.
  • Ensuring that all food is of excellent quality and served in a timely manner.
  • Produces high-quality plates, considering both design and taste.
  • Planning the menu, keeping in mind budget, and availability of seasonal ingredients.
  • Overseeing kitchen operations.
  • Coordinating kitchen staff, and supervise them as required.
  • Training staff to prepare and cook all the menu items.
  • Ingredients and equipment, inventory control and supply management.
  • Keeps Stations Clean and complies with food safety standards.
  • Keeping up to date with industry trends.
  • Receiving feedback and making improvements where necessary.
  • Collaborates with the head chef to direct food preparation.
  • Ensuring that all food is of excellent quality and served in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS/ WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Have at least a relevant AQF Certificate IV or above in Commercial Cookery or above in a cookery/hospitality-related field
  • Minimum 1 years work experience as a Chef/ Cook is essential
  • Experience within a fast-paced restaurant and experience in fine dining Restaurant is advantageous.
