We are seeking passionate and reliable cooks to join our kitchen team in either a full-time or casual capacity. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced café environment and takes pride in preparing consistently great food while maintaining a clean, organised and efficient kitchen.

About the Role

As a Cook, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, ensuring every dish is prepared to a high standard and every service runs smoothly. You will also contribute to menu development, stock management and maintaining a well-organised kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch and café menu items to a consistently high standard.
  • Assist with menu planning, seasonal menu updates and introducing new menu ideas.
  • Order food and kitchen supplies while managing stock levels and minimising waste.
  • Receive, rotate and store stock using FIFO principles.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen at all times.
  • Ensure all food preparation and kitchen operations comply with food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Clean kitchen equipment, workstations and cooking areas throughout the day and at the end of each shift.
  • Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining quality, consistency and presentation.
  • Collaborate with the front-of-house team to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

About You

  • Previous experience as a cook in a café, restaurant or similar hospitality environment.
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and safe food handling practices.
  • Experience with menu planning, stock ordering and inventory management is highly regarded.
  • Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Reliable, punctual and takes pride in maintaining a clean and well-run kitchen.
  • A positive attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
