Cook/Chef - Permanant Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced Cook/Chef to join our team Food inn Restaurant in Fremantle, Western Australia. As our Chef/Cook, you will be responsible for creating and preparing delicious, high-quality meals that delight our customers. This is a full-time permanent role.

What you will be doing:

  • Preparing and cooking a range of dishes from our diverse menu
  • Ensuring all meals are presented to the highest standard
  • Maintain quality of food preparation ensuring consistency in food appearance and taste.
  • Assisting with menu development and item costing
  • Work effectively within the kitchen team to ensure well-presented food to our guests.
  • Supporting the staff in the overall management of the kitchen
  • Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety standards
  • Maintaining strict food safety and hygiene standards
  • Supervising and training kitchen staff to ensure consistent food quality and efficient workflow
  • Collaborating with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Monitoring inventory levels and placing orders for necessary supplies
  • Adhering to budgetary guidelines and cost control measures
  • Adhere to and monitor the kitchen standard operating procedures.
  • Assist in the development of the skills and effectiveness of all kitchen employees through the appropriate training, coaching or mentoring.
  • Ensure that all food prepared is served according to company standards.
  • Provide guidance and direction to kitchen personnel.
  • Serve as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviours.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures, best practice and company policy.
  • Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff.
  • Adhere to all our policies and procedures.
  • Undertake any other work related tasks which may reasonably be required from time to time as requested by Management.

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 1 years' experience as a Cook/Chef in a similar environment
  • Formal culinary training or qualifications, at least Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
  • Passion for creating innovative, flavourful dishes
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with the front-of-house team and teamwork skills
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations and kitchen management best practices
