Tandoor Chef – Indian Restaurant

Location: Clyde North, VIC

Job Type: Full-time / Part-time / Casual

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Tandoor Chef to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing authentic tandoor dishes while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, hygiene, and kitchen efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of tandoori dishes including naan, roti, kebabs, tikka, and other clay oven specialties.
  • Marinate meats, seafood, and vegetables according to recipes and quality standards.
  • Operate and maintain the tandoor safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure consistent food presentation, taste, and portion control.
  • Assist with food preparation and stock rotation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and comply with all food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Monitor ingredient stock and report ordering requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team during busy service periods.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience as a Tandoor Chef in an Indian restaurant.
  • Strong knowledge of traditional Indian cooking techniques and tandoor operations.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time management and teamwork skills.
  • Understanding of food safety and HACCP procedures.
