Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service Aboriginal Corporation (DYHS) is one of Western Australia's largest Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations, delivering high-quality, culturally safe primary health care and wellbeing services to Aboriginal people across the Perth metropolitan region.
We are seeking an exceptional Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander leader to join our Executive Leadership Team as our Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Deputy CEO).
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this pivotal executive role will drive organisational excellence, operational performance, strategic growth and innovation while supporting DYHS in delivering better health outcomes for Aboriginal communities.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an accomplished executive who is passionate about Aboriginal health, community leadership and creating lasting impact.
About the Role
As the Deputy CEO, you will act as the CEO's principal deputy, providing strategic leadership across operational, corporate and governance functions while ensuring the successful delivery of DYHS's strategic priorities.
You will:
- Provide executive leadership across organisational operations and corporate services.
- Lead strategic planning, organisational transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with Executive Managers and clinical leaders to strengthen service delivery and organisational performance.
- Drive innovation, operational excellence and sustainable growth.
- Oversee governance, risk management, compliance and organisational accountability.
- Foster strong relationships with Aboriginal communities, government agencies, funding bodies and key stakeholders.
- Provide executive leadership across ICT, facilities, assets and organisational infrastructure.
- Act on behalf of the CEO when required and provide leadership continuity across the organisation.
About You
You are a highly respected executive leader with a proven ability to lead complex organisations through growth, change and innovation.
To be successful, you will bring:
- Extensive executive leadership experience as a CEO, Deputy CEO, COO or Executive Director within healthcare, community services, government, not-for-profit or Aboriginal Community Controlled sectors.
- Demonstrated experience leading large operational portfolios and improving organisational performance.
- Strong understanding of governance, strategic planning, healthcare compliance and accreditation.
- Outstanding leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proven experience in financial management, operational planning and organisational development.
- A commitment to culturally safe leadership and improving Aboriginal health outcomes.
- Tertiary qualifications in business, health, community services or a related discipline (postgraduate qualifications highly regarded).
Essential Requirements
This is an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Identified Position in accordance with Section 50D of the Equal Opportunity Act.

- Current National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
- Current Western Australian Driver's Licence.
- Ability to travel across DYHS clinic locations.
- Successful pre-employment health assessment.
