Lead digital transformation across one of Victoria’s largest health services
Bayside Health is seeking an experienced Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) to provide clinical leadership for enterprise digital transformation across a newly integrated health system serving ~1.2 million people across metropolitan and regional Victoria.
This is a rare opportunity to shape how digital technologies enable safer, more connected care at scale.
About the role
Reporting to the Chief Digital Health Officer, the CMIO will be the senior medical leader for digital health, driving:
- Enterprise EMR strategy, deployment and optimisation
- Clinician engagement and adoption across multiple sites
- Safe, standardised use of clinical applications
- Executive advice on clinical risk, readiness and benefits realisation
- Safe, ethical, and responsible research, innovation, and AI adoption
The CMIO play a critical role in delivering clinically led digital transformation in a complex post-merger environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead medical engagement for EMR rollout and convergence
- Shape the enterprise EMR roadmap and clinical priorities
- Drive clinical change management and adoption
- Ensure compliance with NSQHS Standards, safety and privacy requirements
- Improve clinical documentation, data quality and funding integrity
- Advise executives on digital investment decisions and clinical impact
About you
You are a respected clinician with the ability to influence at scale and lead complex change.
Essential
- Current AHPRA registration as a medical practitioner,
- Specialist qualifications, or substantial equivalent senior medical leadership experience relevant to the role.
- Demonstrated senior clinical leadership experience within complex health services, including leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated involvement in enterprise‑scale digital health, EMR or major clinical transformation.
Desirable
- Formal training or substantial experience in Health Informatics or Digital Health.
- Direct experience with EMR implementation or convergence programs.
- Postgraduate leadership or health management qualifications.
