Japanese Restaurant Cook

Mount Isa, QLD 4825

$77,000 – $85,000 + Superannuation

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Japanese Restaurant Cook to join our busy and growing team in Mount Isa, Queensland.

This is a full-time position suited to a passionate hospitality professional with strong experience in Japanese cuisine, particularly sushi and hot food preparation.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare and cook a variety of Japanese dishes, including sushi, sashimi and hot meals

* Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and consistency

* Assist with menu planning and development

* Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies

* Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health standards

* Work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment

* Collaborate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff

Requirements

* Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification

* Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Cook in a Japanese restaurant environment

* Strong knowledge of Japanese cooking techniques and food preparation

* Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively

* Strong teamwork and communication skills
