Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required

To be considered for this role, applicants should possess the following:

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher qualification in a relevant field
  • At least one year of relevant practical experience as a Cook
  • Previous experience in a Chinese or Asian restaurant will be highly regarded
  • Strong kitchen organisation and time management skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and busy restaurant environment
  • Reliable, passionate, and self-motivated attitude Strong communication and teamwork skills

About the Role

As a Cook, you will be employed on a full-time basis, working 38 hours per week, and will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Preparing ingredients and inspecting the quality of food and produce prior to daily service
  • Cooking, seasoning, and portioning meals in accordance with restaurant recipes and standards
  • Operating kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, fryers, pans, and other cooking appliances
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations at all times
  • Cleaning and maintaining kitchen stations, equipment, and food preparation areas
  • Assisting the Head Chef with menu preparation and kitchen operations
  • Supporting day-to-day kitchen activities as directed by the Head Chef
  • Following workplace health and safety procedures and maintaining food hygiene standards
  • Ensuring company policies, procedures, and quality expectations are consistently met

Pay: $72,000.00 – $82,000.00 per year
