Reports to: Project Manager Program: Australia First Nations Program (AFNP)
About the Role
The Project Facilitator supports First Nations young people (10–18) and emerging local leaders through the IMPACT Club program. Working with the Project Manager, Club Leaders, Elders, and community organisations, you’ll help localise and deliver the IMPACT Club model in Derby and Mowanjum.
A key focus of the role is mentoring First Nations Club Leaders to build confidence, facilitation skills, and leadership pathways. You’ll also support weekly club sessions, community projects, bush camps, and culturally grounded learning activities.
This role suits someone flexible, community‑minded, and committed to walking alongside First Nations young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Mentor Club Leaders and support culturally relevant, engaging activities
- Coordinate weekly planning and adapt curriculum to local context
- Support delivery of weekly IMPACT Club meetings (resources, logistics, coaching)
- Engage Elders and community leaders in program decisions and cultural adaptation
- Collect data, maintain records, and contribute to stories of impact and reports
- Build strong relationships with community partners and stakeholders
About You
- Knowledge of issues affecting First Nations young people in remote Australia
- Understanding of West Kimberley cultural context
- Experience mentoring, coaching, teaching, or facilitating youth activities
- Experience in community development or participatory approaches
- Strong communication, relationship‑building, and organisational skills
- Ability to use Microsoft Office and maintain accurate data
What you need to know…
This role is a full-time Permanent role, it will be based in our office in Derby, WA. This role requires regular travel to remote communities.
