Clinical Assistant in Nursing Acute Medical Inpatient Unit - Full time and Part Time applications will be considered. We are seeking passionate Clinical Assistants in Nursing to join our brand-new, purpose-built Acute Medical Inpatient Unit, delivering high-quality, family-centred care to children and young people aged 0–18 years. The unit includes 24 modern single rooms, designed to support safety, comfort, privacy, and effective infection control.
This is an exciting opportunity for Clinical AIN’s who thrive in a fast-paced, team-focused environment and want to be part of an advanced paediatric service. Candidates with relevant experience as an Assistant in Nursing in an ACUTE CARE area would be considered.

What you'll be doing
The Assistant in Nursing (AIN) role assists in the provision of basic nursing care, working within a plan of care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) within a team setting. AIN’s are not to be allocated their own patients. AIN’s are not to be assigned patients where one to one therapeutic nursing supervision is prescribed.
The AIN is responsible for assisting in the delivery of quality individualised care to patients at The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN) within the guidelines set by the NSW Department of Health, the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council Framework, The SCHN – Division of Nursing and within the limits of the AIN position description.
The AIN will:
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Demonstrate ethical behaviour in their performance
- Understand and respect patients’ rights.
- Provide evidence of completion of annual mandatory training.
- Practice within the NSW Health guidelines, the position description and guidelines for the SCHN and are required to adhere to Policies and Procedures.
- Adhere to the NSW Health Code of Conduct.
