About Us
Codan is a global Group of innovative technology businesses delivering solutions across communications, detection and connection technologies.
Our technologies are relied upon by defence forces, public safety and emergency responders, humanitarian organisations, and resource industries.
We design, develop and manufacture hardware and software solutions that help people stay connected, operate safely, and perform at their best when it matters most.
Established in 1959 and listed in the ASX200 index, Codan (CDA) has grown into a trusted international business with more than 1,100 people across 15 locations worldwide including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, UAE, Ireland, Mexico, Singapore, the UK and the USA. Our products are sold in more than 150 countries.
As we continue to grow, we remain focused on our purpose to meaningfully transform lives through being a trusted provider of innovative ruggedised and reliable communications and consumer products across our core global markets.
About the Role
Kick-start your accounting career with a global technology company where you'll gain hands-on experience, learn from experienced finance professionals, and build a strong foundation for your future.
Reporting to the Transactional Finance Team Lead, the Graduate Accountant will play an important role in supporting our growing Corporate Finance team. This newly created position offers broad exposure across financial accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and business operations, giving you the opportunity to develop your technical skills while gaining valuable commercial experience.
As a valued member of the team, you will contribute to a variety of accounting activities, including:
Assist with the preparation of daily, monthly, and annual financial reporting activities.
Prepare reconciliations for bank accounts, petty cash, foreign currency, staff advances, and employee reimbursements.
Support month-end processing, including journals, accruals, and financial reconciliations.
Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
Support the preparation of half-year and year-end statutory financial reports.
Liaise with external auditors and assist with audit requests and queries.
Provide financial and administrative support to Corporate Services and business units as required.
About You
You're an enthusiastic graduate or early-career accountant who is eager to learn, build your technical capability, and develop a successful career in finance. You enjoy working with numbers, have a strong eye for detail, and are motivated by solving problems and continuously improving the way things are done.
You communicate confidently, enjoy working collaboratively, and can build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Most importantly, you're keen to learn from experienced professionals while making a meaningful contribution from day one.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will have:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business, or Finance.
A sound understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis concepts.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
A proactive approach, willingness to learn, and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Exposure to SAP or a similar ERP system will be highly regarded, but is not essential.
Benefits and Culture
Our culture is supportive and collaborative. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team where we share our ideas and innovation is strongly encouraged. We are looking for someone with genuine passion and can-do attitude for what they do. Our Head office is located in Mawson Lakes offering a spacious, modern facility, free secure onsite parking, easy access via public transport, and an onsite subsidised café. We also have recreational facilities including a gym, basketball and tennis court, as well as various game tables.
