Full job description
The Coordinator is responsible for the effective management and day-to-day operation of the Community Centre. This role requires a proactive, organised and community-focused individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to delivering positive outcomes for the defence community. The Sucessfull applicant will also be given a workphone and work laptop.
Key responsibilities include developing, implementing and evaluating regular activities and annual events, responding to enquiries, supporting and supervising volunteers, promoting the Centre and its services, and maintaining strong relationships with community members, stakeholders and partner organisations.
Reporting to the Committee of Management, the Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the Centre operates in accordance with Committee policies, funding agreements and relevant legislative requirements, while supporting the Centre's ongoing development.
The successful applicant will have experience coordinating or managing a community organisation or similar service, a sound understanding of community development principles, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to engage effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. A demonstrated understanding of the Australian Defence community, including the unique needs of serving members, veterans and their families, is preferred.

Duty Statement Key Responsibilities
· Develop, deliver and evaluate community programs and activities that respond to identified community needs.
· Prepare annual program plans, budgets and reports, and identify opportunities for new initiatives and funding.
· Coordinate the day-to-day operation and effective use of the community facilities.
· Promote the organisation and its services to the Defence and local communities to maximise engagement.
· Build and maintain productive relationships with Defence stakeholders, community partners and funding bodies, including DMFS, DFA, Base Managers and Command.
· Support, supervise and coordinate volunteers.
· Provide administrative support, including managing enquiries, correspondence, records, social media and website updates.
· Ensure the Centre operates safely and in accordance with relevant policies, procedures and risk management requirements.
· Attend Committee of Management meetings and provide regular reports, advice and recommendations.
· Identify funding opportunities and prepare grant applications and funding acquittals in collaboration with the Committee of Management.
· Coordinate fundraising activities to support the Centre's sustainability and growth.
· Coordinate the procurement of office supplies, equipment and resources for the effective operation of the Centre and delivery of programs and events.
· Undertake other duties consistent with the position as directed by the Committee of Management.

Coordinate suppliers, resources, venue requirements and logistical planning to support Centre programs and activities.

Special Conditions
· Performance will be based upon the delivery of the agreed goals recorded in your Performance Review documentation
· Out of hours and weekend work may be required in order to meet the requirement of the role
· A driver’s licence is required
· A senior first aid certificate is required
· A Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required
· A satisfactory police clearance is required
· A satisfactory food handling certificate may be required
