Eastern Health
Eastern Health is one of Melbourne’s largest public health services. We provide a range of emergency, surgical, medical and general healthcare services and have a proud history of serving a diverse community.
Our Employee Value Proposition is “Being a part of Eastern Health means belonging to a welcoming team of healthcare experts”.
This statement aligns with our promise to our communities, patients, consumers and staff that we will be HEALTHIER TOGETHER. Bolder than a vision for the future, our promise calls us to action. We know that working together is the only way we can achieve what is necessary for a healthier future.
About the role
Eastern Health is seeking passionate and motivated Grade 2 Social Workers to join our Allied Health teams in our Box Hill Neurology Department. You’ll provide high-quality, evidence-based Social Work care to diverse patient groups while working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to achieve the best outcomes for patients and families.
In this role, you’ll also have the opportunity to supervise and support Grade 1 staff, Allied Health Assistants, and students, while contributing to the ongoing development of Social Work services alongside senior clinicians. You’ll be encouraged to participate in service improvement and research initiatives led by our Grade 3 and Grade 4 Clinical Leads, helping shape the future of Social Work at Eastern Health.
We offer a supportive, inclusive environment with strong supervision, generous entitlements, and professional development opportunities to help you grow your career. To thrive in this role, you’ll bring AASW eligibility, at least two years of Social Work experience, and a passion for delivering person-centred, collaborative, and compassionate care.
Please note:This is not a Mental Health Social Work role. We do not currently have vacancy in this area.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the AASW
- Previous Social Work experience (at least 3 years)
- Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience
- A strong commitment to high quality care
- The ability to work as part of a diverse team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
