About Us:

Access Lifecare is a significant community-based social enterprise with the core purpose of enhancing the lifestyle and independence of adults with all disabilities.

Access Lifecare provides services to people with disability, providing meaningful opportunities to enable participants to realise their hopes and dreams through services such as accommodation, social and recreational activities, support coordination, recovery coaching and medication supervision. Our programs are designed to empower, promote independence and enhance social skills.

The Role:

We are looking for casual Community Support Worker's to join our Canberra team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support participants with activities of daily living including personal care, living skills and recreational activities.
  • Assistance with shopping and cooking.
  • Assistance with transport and facilitate community participation.
  • Administering First Aid and manage medical emergencies when required.
  • Respite Care.
  • Medication Supervision.
  • Offer person centred support and care to aid participants independence, health and well-being.
  • Encourage participants involvement within the community and assisting them to achieve their goals and making their life as fulfilling as possible.
  • Complete charts during each shift including progress notes/behaviour chart/medication chart etc.
  • Comply with NDIA Code of Conduct.

Essential Criteria:

Flexibility and availability is essential in this role, with the ability to work a variety of shifts; morning, day, afternoon, evening, and nights.

  • Minimum Cert III in Disability, Aged Care, Community Services, Mental Health, Nursing or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of demonstrated experience in working with people with disability or lived experience.
  • NDIS Screening Check (state based) (WWVP)
  • Current drivers licence.
  • Comprehensive Insurance.
  • Use of own car for work purposes.
  • Valid work rights in Australia.
  • Current National Police Check (within 12 months validity), (or be prepared to obtain)
  • Current First Aid & CPR certification (or be prepared to obtain)
  • NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) Worker Orientation Module Certificate.
  • Strong Communication skills.
  • Willingness to work in the community.
