Male Disability Support Worker

Monday to Wednesday | 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm
15 Hours Per Week | Consistent Ongoing Shifts

Assigned Guardian Angels (AGA) is seeking an experienced, reliable and compassionate Male Disability Support Worker to provide ongoing support to a male participant.

  • Important: At the participant's request and based on his individual support preferences, applicants for this particular role must be male and have clear, confident English communication skills.

This is a great opportunity for a Support Worker looking for consistent afternoon shifts across three days each week while making a genuine difference in someone's daily life.

The participant requires structured, person-centred support both at home and in the community, with a focus on building independence, maintaining routines, accessing the community and working towards his individual goals.

Shift Availability

Monday: 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Tuesday: 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Wednesday: 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Total: 15 hours per week

Applicants must be available and committed to working all three regular shifts.

About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker, you will work directly with the participant to provide practical, engaging and respectful support.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting daily living activities and routines
  • Assisting with community access and participation
  • Supporting appointments, outings and recreational activities
  • Encouraging social engagement and meaningful participation
  • Building independence and everyday living skills
  • Providing companionship and positive engagement
  • Following the participant's care and support plans
  • Completing accurate progress notes and required documentation
  • Communicating professionally with the AGA team
  • Maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this particular participant's support team, applicants must:

  • Be male – this is a specific participant request based on his individual support preferences
  • Have clear, confident English communication skills – this is important to the participant's communication and support needs
  • Be available Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 2:00 pm–7:00 pm
  • Have previous Disability Support Worker or similar experience
  • Have experience supporting people with complex needs or acquired/traumatic brain injury (TBI) – highly regarded
  • Hold or be working towards a Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability or Community Services
  • Hold current First Aid and CPR
  • Hold a current NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Hold a current Working With Children Check, or be willing to obtain one
  • Have a valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Be reliable, punctual and committed to scheduled shifts
  • Be confident engaging with the participant and encouraging independence
