You will communicate with complainants and agencies throughout the investigation process, assess information carefully, prepare clear written reasons for decisions, and make recommendations to improve administrative practices and procedures.
This role requires sound judgement, strong analytical skills, professionalism and the ability to communicate clearly with a range of stakeholders.

conduct complex and sensitive administrative investigations under the Ombudsman Act
communicate with complainants and agencies throughout investigations

draft correspondence explaining investigation outcomes and reasons for decisions
prepare reports for different audiences, including public sector agencies and Parliament
identify systemic issues arising from complaints, investigations or internal reviews
recommend improvements to administrative practices and procedures
create and maintain accurate records of your work
contribute to improved service delivery, accountability and organisational initiatives within the Office.
