Experienced State Logistics Manager to lead Brisbane Distribution Centre operations, balancing hands-on management with strategic transformation and safety.

Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic State Logistics Manager to lead the Brisbane Distribution Centre’s end-to-end operations.

This critical leadership role balances hands-on management of people, safety, inventory, transport, and overall operational performance with strategic planning and transformation initiatives — including automation and WMS Manhattan deployment. You will ensure outstanding customer service to our store network and efficient, compliant goods movement while maintaining a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Excellence: Manage daily operations (receiving, replenishment, picking, packing, dispatch), ensure inventory accuracy, meet service goals, drive cost control, monitor KPIs, resolve operational issues, and oversee administrative accuracy.
  • Leadership & People: Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team; drive workforce planning, training, and succession; foster a culture aligned with GPC values focused on performance and accountability; promote communication and teamwork
  • Continuous Improvement & Transformation: Lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency; manage transformation projects including WMS Manhattan and automation; apply Lean methodologies to optimize processes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as primary site leader and escalation point; collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate proactively with supply chain leadership.
  • Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S): Lead a safety-first culture ensuring compliance with WHS laws and regulatory standards; manage hazard reporting, emergency planning, audits, and corrective actions.

Role Requirements

  • Completed tertiary qualifications in Logistics/Warehousing or equivalent experience
  • Senior leadership experience in high-volume retail and/or FMCG warehousing
  • Strong commercial acumen, communication, computer, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proven ability to coach and develop team members
  • Experience in automated distribution operations
  • Strong understanding of inventory management
  • Leadership experience in project/change management in a Logistics environment
  • Experience in automated warehouse operations
