Full job description

Bring Vision to Life - Part-Time Optical Assistant/Dispenser

New Vision Eyewear - Lara

Be the friendly face that brings great vision to life. Join a progressive independent practice where your craftsmanship, customer care, and display-straightening superpowers make the world a clearer place (literally).

About the Role

Supporting our optometrists and valued community, you’ll:

  • Guide patients through lens and frame selection with confidence and care
  • Deliver accurate measurements, adjustments, repairs, and fittings
  • Maintain smooth front-of-house operations - from welcoming patients to managing orders
  • Help keep our displays looking stylish enough to tempt even the most decisive shopper
  • Contribute to a collaborative team that loves good communication as much as good eyewear

What We’re Offering

  • Part-time role with flexible days (e.g. mid-week + some Saturdays - negotiable)
  • Supportive mentoring from experienced dispensers and optometrists
  • Strong focus on patient experience and professional growth
  • No late nights - because we care about your social life too
  • A workplace grounded in community - the people you help are your neighbours

About You

You might be experienced in optics or newer to the craft - either way, you:

  • Love connecting with people and helping them feel confident in their eyewear
  • Enjoy problem-solving - especially tiny screws with a mind of their own
  • Have solid computer skills and willingness to pick up new systems
  • Bring accuracy, pride, and a team-first mindset to everything you do

If you’ve worked in optical dispensing before - fantastic. If you’re new but eager to learn - we’ll invest in you.

Ready to help people see their best while working with a team that genuinely backs your growth?

We’d love to meet you.
