Yellow Canary is a fast-growing Australian RegTech company on a mission to make workforce compliance easy. Our platform helps employers ensure their teams are paid correctly and on time, in line with laws, awards, and Enterprise Agreements.
We’re looking for a curious and motivated Consultant to join our collaborative, customer-focused team. You’ll help build and scale internal tools that support pay rule implementation—tools that are central to our mission of giving Australian employers confidence in their compliance.
This is a great opportunity for someone who’s eager to learn, grow, and make a meaningful impact in the payroll compliance space.
What You’ll Do
- Implement: Assist with implementing pay rules and regulatory changes using our platform and toolkit.
- Analyse & Document: Help analyse data and document logic aligned with YC’s specifications.
- QA & Testing: Support quality assurance efforts to ensure accuracy and scalability.
- Process Improvement: Contribute to refining and documenting implementation processes.
- Automation Mindset: Identify opportunities to streamline workflows with automation.
- Feature Development Support: Collaborate with engineering, data, and customer teams to scope new features.
- Communication: Participate in client and internal communications—note taking, drafting emails, responding to tickets.
- Iterate: Embrace continuous improvement and help embed it across the team.
About You
- Some experience in payroll, HR tech, employment law, or a related field—or keen to develop in this space.
- Curious & proactive: You ask questions, seek understanding, and love learning.
- Problem solver: You enjoy finding better ways to do things.
- Tech-aware: Comfortable with technology and eager to learn more.
- Team player: You thrive in collaborative environments and welcome feedback.
- Resilient: Adaptable and ready to grow in a fast-paced startup.
- Must have full working rights for Australia
- Must reside in either QLD, NSW, ACT, or VIC
Why Yellow Canary?
We’re remote-first, with a Sydney office for those who prefer in-person collaboration. We value work/life balance, autonomy, and a culture of continuous learning. You’ll be empowered to shape your role and development pathway, supported by a genuinely talented and kind team.
If you’re excited about this role or Yellow Canary—even if you don’t meet 100% of the criteria—we encourage you to apply. If you need reasonable adjustments or prefer a specific name or pronoun during the process, just let us know.
Please email your CV to ellie@yellowcanary.com.au
