We are looking for a Consultant II to join our Sydney team. In this role, you will contribute analytical and research support to client engagements, working closely with your Line Manager and broader engagement teams to deliver high-quality, client-ready work product. This is a full-time position based at our Sydney office, with the flexibility to work from home when it doesn't interfere with engagement needs.
The successful candidate will bring a strong combination of quantitative analysis, economic and commercial reasoning, research, and written communication skills, together with demonstrated experience applying those capabilities to complex consulting or advisory engagements. The role requires an ability to work with quantitative and qualitative evidence, identify the issues that matter most to a client, communicate findings clearly to senior stakeholders, and produce high-quality work within demanding engagement timelines. Candidates should also be comfortable working collaboratively with economists, technical specialists, academics, and senior advisors across different disciplines and jurisdictions. Given the nature of our engagements, we are seeking candidates who can demonstrate these capabilities through relevant professional experience and who can contribute effectively to client work with an appropriate level of independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute defined research, analytical, and data assignments with increasing independence across complex client engagements Apply analytical judgment to evaluate evidence, identify relevant issues, and develop well-supported findings
- Prepare clear, accurate, and well-organized deliverables, including reports, analyses, and presentation materials with senior review
- Coordinate with your Line Manager and senior team members to develop and refine analytical approaches and respond to evolving engagement needs
- Take responsibility for the quality and timely delivery of assigned work, managing priorities within broader engagement timelines
- Contribute to business development materials and internal firm-building initiatives as needed
- Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality, data protection, and professional conduct
- Collaborate across Keystone's practice teams as engagements require
What We're Looking For
- An MBA or PhD from an appropriately accredited and internationally recognized institution, with a Merit classification or equivalent level of academic achievement, or demonstrable progress toward completing such a qualification.
- Right to work in Australia, which you can evidence and maintain throughout employment
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based environment
- Relevant prior experience in consulting, economics, data science, or a related analytical field
Location & Hours
Level 35 & 36, 1 Elizabeth Street, Sydney NSW 2000, Australia. Standard hours are 38 hours per week, generally worked within 9:00am–5:00pm Monday to Friday, with reasonable additional hours as engagement needs require.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary from approximately AUD $209,440 gross per annum, plus superannuation (commensurate with experience)
- Eligibility to participate in the Keystone Annual Bonus Program, with a target bonus of approximately AUD $39,270, subject to individual and firm performance
- 20 days of paid annual leave per year, plus the full suite of statutory leave entitlements (parental, compassionate, family and domestic violence, community service, and long service leave)
