Cake Decorator – Full Time / Part Time

Location: Canberra, ACT
Salary: Based on experience
Start Date: Immediate

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Cake Decorator to join our growing team. This role focuses on cake finishing, decorating, and supporting our pastry and dessert production. You’ll work in a fast‑paced environment where creativity, consistency, and attention to detail are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Decorate and finish cakes to a high standard
  • Work confidently with buttercream, ganache, piping, and modern cake styles
  • Assist with preparation of pastries and desserts as required
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pastry section
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation across all products
  • Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times

Requirements

  • Experience in cake decorating (portfolio or photos highly regarded)
  • Completed Commercial Cookery or Patisserie qualification
  • Strong understanding of cake finishing techniques
  • Creativity, precision, and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced kitchen
  • Must already be based in Australia and legally able to work
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team

Preferred (but not essential)

  • Experience with Filipino‑inspired cakes or Asian‑style flavours
  • Ability to assist with general pastry production
