Casual Chefs

Daily pay rate: $ 486.71 + Plus Superannuation + Plus allowances

Join the relief pool of chefs on a casual pools, FIFO or DIDO to Roxby Downs and or Olympic Dam.

Roxby Downs is a mining town in outback South Australia and is often referred to as the most ‘modern town of the outback’! About 15km north is the mine site of Olympic Dam.

Olympic Dam is one of the world’s most significant deposits of copper, gold, silver, and uranium. BHP operates underground and surface operations including a fully integrated processing facility from ore to metal.

ESS provides multi-service capability to major companies and organizations operating in remote sites, gold mines, and coal fields. We provide vital workplace support for people working in some of the most isolated terrains in the world, from oil rigs in the North Sea to gold mines in the Australian Outback.

THE POSITION:

  • Prepare and cook a diverse range of dishes to high standards, considering dietary requirements and guest preferences
  • Prepare, cook, and serve meals across breakfast, lunch, and dinner for residents and guests
  • Deliver exceptional service to staff, residents, and guests
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace, following food safety and hygiene protocols
  • Adapt to different environments and kitchens while consistently delivering exceptional culinary experiences

THE PERSON:

  • A minimum in Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
  • Experience in fast-paced environments, ideally in remote site kitchens
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and culinary techniques
  • High-volume catering, including bulk catering and function/banquet experience
  • Provide updated national police clearance not more than three months
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical with drug and alcohol screening
