Coffee Guru Lanyon is a vibrant and community-focused café located in the heart of Lanyon, ACT. The

café is recognised for delivering exceptional coffee, quality meals, and excellent customer service in a

welcoming environment. Coffee Guru Lanyon offers a diverse menu including breakfast, brunch,

lunch, and café-style dining using fresh and locally sourced ingredients.

The business continues to experience consistent customer demand and is seeking an experienced

and motivated Cook to join the kitchen team on a full-time, permanent basis.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a range of café meals while

maintaining high food quality and kitchen hygiene standards. The role requires a reliable team player

who can work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality meals in accordance with menu

requirements

Assisting with menu planning and estimating food and ingredient requirements

Monitoring food quality at all stages of preparation and presentation

Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills, fryers, and other cooking equipment

Portioning meals and adding garnishes, sauces, and seasonings

Maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen equipment and work areas

Ensuring food is stored and handled in compliance with food safety regulations

Assisting in preparing meals for customers with dietary requirements

Working collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff

Assisting with stock rotation and inventory control

Training and supporting junior kitchen staff where required

Skills and Experience Required

Minimum 2 years’ relevant work experience as a Cook or similar role

Relevant qualification such as Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher

Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations

Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy café environment

Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards

Excellent teamwork and communication skills

Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays
